Research groups
A number of research groups have been established at the IACL World Congresses in Athens in June 2007, Mexico in December 2010 and Oslo in June 2014, as indicated below.
In general, the research groups function autonomously of the IACL according to their own working rules and timetables. Research groups may, however, choose to align their research with the theme of the next World Congress, and in any event use the World Congress as an opportunity to meet in person. If you are interested in joining one or more of these groups, kindly contact the convenor concerned. If you would like to establish a new research group, or if you are interested in finding out more about how these groups operate, kindly contact:
Thematic Research Groups are a very special part of the IACL. Although hosted by, and therefore existing under the umbrella of the IACL, these Research Groups operate independently. They conduct research and publish findings, and they organise private meetings, public events and other activities. They contribute richly to the identity and reputation of the IACL and benefit from the IACL’s affiliation and endorsement.
